Copy sheets error 1004 with some regional settings

Hi!
I use Windows NT4SP6a and Excel 97 SR2b (Version n, Nov2003).
I have an excel wb which copies a template (name "TEMPLATE") in the wb an
renames it (New Name "10 MAR 04").
This works perfect in most of the desired languages like: German, English,
Dansk, French...
If I switch my regional setting of WinNT to other languages like Greek,
Suomi, Polski or Hungarian, I'm not able to copy the "TEMPLATE". With VBA
there is always the 1004-error. If I copy it manually, excel tries to work,
but nothing happens.
I tested it on Excel XP and 2003. There were no problems.
I excluded some other reasons:
- the VBA-Name of the sheet is not longer than "bTemplate1", so it isn't the
"Sheet1111111111"-Problem, by the way, it works in some languages
- the sheets and the wb are unprotected before copying
- I copied the TEMPLATE-Sheet to a new WB with german settings, then I
switched to hungarian and tried to copy the sheet inside the new wb - the
same problem
- I removed some command buttons from the sheet - the problem still exists

Is it possible that there are some bugs in Excel 97 with some regional
settings of WinNT?
Is it possible that the excel file is corrupt?

Thank you.

Hi!
Well I haven't checked it. The filename is always the same, containing
"clear"-ANSI-characters.
I'm looking for that "code-page thing". Thank you.

Sven,
I get similar problem when the original workbook resides on network path
with Chinese characters in it, when run from my English Windows 2K and
Office 2K.
Do you get problems if you try to SaveAs to local/network location that has
non-ANSI characters in it ?
I would guess it is a code page thing, but have been able to find any
solution as yet.
Good luck.

Hi!
After some "interesting" installations, I think WINNT is the Problem. I
tested following environments:
WINNT+OFF97 German regional settings - No Problem
WINNT+OFF97 Greek regional settings - Error
WINNT+OFF2K German regional settings - No Problem
WINNT+OFF2K Greek regional settings - Error
WIN2K+OFF97 - No Problem at all
WIN2K+OFF2K - No Problem at all
WINXP+OFF97 - No Problem at all
WINXP+OFFXP - No Problem at all

So I think the problem is WINNT with the regional settings.

Greetings, Sven
