I cannot seem to copy any pictures from the internet into a Word document.
All I get is a blank frame.
copying text is no problem.
I am using Student Ed. 2003 with XP sp2 ... printer is Epson CX5200.
Please help.
Thank you.

Go to Tools > Options. Under the View tab, look for "picture
placeholders." If it is checked, uncheck it an see if that does it for
you. If not, post back.

Thanks for the reply.
"picture placeholders." was not checked.
Need something else please.
Thanks.

Howdy Blushu,

When you copy and paste an image from a web page, could you provide
details on how you do it and what browser you are using? For example, if
you go to Google's site and attempt to paste their logo into your
document, what process do you use (Right-click, copy image, etc...)? I
gave this a spin in Word, and I did not have a problem. Provided there
isn't something else wrong with your computer or Word, perhaps there is
a step you are missing along the way.

Here is another check for you. Right click on Google's logo and select
"Save Image As..." and save it to your desktop (or where ever you
choose). Then, go to Insert > Picture > From File and browse to your
image and insert it. Do you see the image, or only the frame?

Thanks for taking the time to help.

On previous machines I've always been able to just highlight RC and copy
and paste pics and text in to Word all in one go.
I at present have a Tiny Computer with a Radeon All-in-Wonder graphics card
and on this setup have never been able to do this ... this setup may be a
problem?
I have also reduced acceleration by 1 notch.
I use Aol as my browser and google as my search engine.
I have a cheat method of getting a single picture in to Word:
When I get the frame into Word I delete it and I then use Special Paste to
insert it again; but this is not Ideal.
It seems like the pictures are transparent?
Most stuff that I wish to copy off the net are series of pictures and text
so I need my previous quich method back.
Any further ideas or suggestions will be welcome.
Regards.

There seems to be a problem with some installations of Office 2003 -
which is what you have. I find if you copy and paste an image into
word you get an Acrobat icon as a placeholder, but if you insert the
same image using the menu toolbar it works, and the image is embedded
OK. I've not managed to work out why. It seems to apply to ALL images
whether TIFF, MBP, JPG or whatever

Thank you.
It works.
I cant believe I didn't try the paste from the menu also ctrl + v works.
Old habits I suppose.
I've always liked the RC method because it is simple.
The concerns were because I can still use the RC method at college but not
at home.
Also when I tried to copy some help files into Word the I got the same
problem, so I just assumed I had made some bad changes to my setup or
graphics problems.
Again thank you for your time.

Regards.
