Copy /paste not working or disabiled

Its a lap top at work so I don't know its history of use
but somewhere along the line copy/paste weather it is
drag and drop,right click option,or Ctrl+C Ctrl+V doesn't
work.
Could it be a registry setting that has been fiddled with?
or is there a Windows setting that toggles this feature
on and off?

Have your tried Copy&Paste in Wordpad, NotePad and Windows Explorer?
Are any of them working? You did not state which program/application you
are using. If it is a WindowsXP feature such as above programs, you can do a
Repair install. If it is a 3rd party application, you'll have to do a
reinstall.

Yes its Windows copy/paste,Iv'e tried using Windows
Explorer and just window to window to copy a .txt file
from a CDrom to "my documents"(it worked from the same
disc at home.)
Iv'e tried a repair install in the past of XP pro at home
and it made such a mess I had to reinstall from scratch.
