I had a Dell laptop, and the whole keyboard was totally defective. I sent it
in, and they replaced the video cable and sent it back. of course, the
keyboard still malfunctioned. I returned it, and they sold it to somebody
else as a 'rehab', and it had the same problem still. I found this out when
Dell accidentally sent some replacemement parts to me, with the new owner's
email address on it. Can you say incompetent?
Anyway....
There's a keyboard diagnostic either in the disks you have from Dell on on
their website ( I don't remember which) that you can run... it'll prove
whether or not the keyboard works correctly.
