I am trying to copy a page from one doc that is in landscape orientation and
it has columns into another doc that is in portrait orientation. When I try
to past it distorts all settings. I need to have an exact copy with all
settings, layouts, borders and columns, ect. Please can someone help me?

Hi Jack,

Most or all of those settings are stored in the section break at the end of
the landscape section (or in the last paragraph of the document, if the
landscape section is the last section). You must include that section break
in the selection when you copy, so that it gets pasted into the other
document.

If the section break isn't on the page you want to copy, you can either (a)
temporarily insert a new section break at the end of the page or (b) copy
everything up to and including the section break, wherever it is, and delete
the unwanted stuff after you paste.

It may be easier to make the selection in Normal view, where you can see the
section break as a dashed line across the screen.
