Copy of Copy in picture folder

Please HELP! I am moving some photos and deleting some also. Each time I do this I get ANOTHER copy back in my folder I am trying to get it OUT from!!! This has happened once to me in the past but hasn't since. I have searched ALL OVER this darn computer and can't find where or how to stop the copy of/to copy function. It's very nerveracking!!! I really don't NEED 8 copies of one picture!

Drag with right mouse button and you'll get a confirmnation menu.
 
I have struggled with this same issue, and I've figured out that the "cause" is mouse movement during the "pick"
Normally I hold the control key down while making multiple picks, and if the mouse is moving during the click, you get the copy automatically. (try it and you'll see) My solution is to pay more attention to the mouse to avoid moving during the pick, and viola ! No more aggravating copies clogging up the works.
