Hi,

If I copy files from network server to the local harddisk at the dos mode of
a WindowsXP, will it be slower, same or faster than in the Widnows
environment ?

To do so since I want to telnet to the client's PC to copy files instead of
interrupt the client

thanks

Hi Bob,

To correct your terminology, there isn't a "dos mode" in XP. You have a
command prompt.

I haven't timed it, but it appears that batch files executed at the
command prompt or by drag & drop from Explorer take about the same
amount of time. Telnet may introduce a lag of its own.
