Is there a way to copy and paste between workbooks so that it does not link
between the 2 so in the following formula:='[Rebecca PTO.xls]Totals'!J5
the [Rebecca PTO.XLS] will not appear?

Hi Mandy,

Just do your regular copy and paste. Then choose Edit, Links, select the
reference to [Rebecca PTO.XLS] and click Change Source and find and click on
the current workbooks name.

If it didn't work, you may have two instances of Excel open with a workbook
in each instance.

In that case your Paste Special will not give you the regular menu with
"values" etc.

You could close one instance of Excel and open both workbooks in the same
instance.

Also see Shane's reply about breaking links.
