When I receive an email, , I want to convert the email into a task, have it
show up in 'my tasks', and if I assign a deadline to it, I want it to show up
in my calendar on the due date.

Flagging the item for follow up is nice, but isn't good enough.

Right click drag & drop the mail item on to the Tasks folder and choose one
of the create options

Vince, your response is correct and that's what we've always done. However, I
along with others want to have an icon or add-in that can convert the email
without having to exit, then drop and drag. An icon that can turn an email
into a task would be absolutely fantastic!

What are you exiting from?

You just need to drop it on the tasks folder (in folder list) or tasks
button (on outlook bar in ol2002 and earlier, or navigation button in
ol2003). You can also use the Edit, move to or copy to menu and select
tasks, or right click on choose move to.

BTW, on an opened message, look on the file menu for the move and copy
options.

What do you do if this option is not working? When doing this now Outlook
2003 does nothing. This used to work, but stopped working. Reinstall???
