When you use WindowsUpdate or install MS products XP keep copies of
the files installed, some under "Windows\SoftwareDistribution" and
some under "Windows\RegisteredPackages" (lots of registry key names)

Why does it do this? Why are they not delted after installation?

Some of the files are HUGE (50MB+) and then they take up space :-(
Is there anything here that can safly be deleted after installed?

Hi

Files in the folder Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download\ will
be automatically deleted after 10 days, but you can safely
clean out the Download folder yourself after an update is
installed.

What about "Windows\RegisteredPackages", some installed packages is
here TWICE (on different levels of the key names, but same files).

Seems strange to have TWO extra copies of all installed files :-/
