Worth starting with CWShredder. It is no longer updated, so may not
handle the most recent versions, but pick it up (free) as linked from
http://www.aumha.org/a/parasite.htm and read that for other suggestions
on approaching the matter

Alex, I believe that CSShredder is still being updated. Their site is down
right now but up to that time I received several updates.

Douing a Search with adaware or spybot should remove the major part of this
annoying spyware, Failing that would be a quick trip into the registry.

** If you have never been in the registry, it is not a place to go fumbling
around. Any mistakes in there and you could be looking at reformatting the
system. ( which would also take care of the spyware issue ) lol **

But if you don't mind the registry, open it up, and look for
"coolwebsearch". Delete all that you find. Doing this should get rid of the
rest of the little pest.

GL.

Also, the free program "CWShredder" will help you remove all traces of
CoolWebSearch.
