COOLING SOLUTIONS FOR 9700 PRO

G

Gamer

Hello! I have a stock ATI Radeon 9700 PRO graphics card. It has served me
well, but I believe the time has come to do some tinkering with the cooling
system. Right now I just have the plain old stock fan--so what are my
options as far as overclocking? I would like to be able to get the most out
of this card. Are heatsink units effective? What about water-cooling? Can
anyone suggest an online guide to familiarize me with the whole thing? Any
suggested products?

Thanks!

Those cards have sufficent cooling without needing to add some extra
gizmo. I've had NO problems with my o/c of 378/330.75 with stock
cooling. Of course if you want to push it harder.. it might be worth
looking into.

I have a Zalman ZM80A-HP on my 9800 Pro (from Crucial) and can do
450/360MHz. It's also about as quiet as you can get, being completely
passive!

i installed a vga silencer on my 9700pro. i had it oc'd to 391/360
with no artifacts (in my boss's system at this moment). i also have
aluminum ram sinks on the ram as well. i havent kicked it up any
higher, so i do not know the limit. but it is an awsome cooler. not
bad for about 22 bucks
