G,day

About to build new PC with K8V SE Duluxe & Athlon64 3400+

I was wondering if I should use AMD Cool & Quiet 'OR' Asus Q Fan or neither
of them!!!

I just wanted any pros or cons for using them or has anyone had troubles
with either?

Thanks

Scott

On a stock 3400+ Newcastle / K8N-E with C&Q enabled, the CPU fan on boot-up
would run very slow or not at all. Since my case is quiet already (antec
sontata), I swtiched it off, letting the CPU fan at run at full. This was
with the 1001 bios, not the 1002 the system is currently running. In theory
its nice; with this board it probably just requires a bios update.

I got the same rigg. I like it very much, it not only helps to keep the fan
silent but it also lowers power consumption, which is very nice. I switched
of Qfan, I only use CnQ with windows like I do with my Centrino Laptop.
Great feature.
Give it a try and see. You can disable it anyway/ anytime
