converting wma files

How can I convert a windows media audio file to mp3 format to send as a
e-mail attachment
 
You can happily send it as a WMA file attached to the email but if you want
to convert it, you will need third party converting software.
 
The easiest way to convert it without obtaining any new software is to burn
it to an audio CD and then rip it back as an MP3. This assumes that you have
WMP 10. Version 9 will not rip to MP3 without an additional codec.
