Converting PowerPoint Slides into Graphic Files

Can anyone explain why PowerPoint Apple version 2003 converts ppt. slides into grap=
hic files (jpg, gif or png) of much better quality than say=E2=80=A6PC versions 2002=
and XP are able to do? Is this the result of an internal setting that controls the compr=
ession and image size? Do you know of any PC PowerPoint versions that do a good job of co=
nversions? I need to convert batches of slides so I'm not interested in a single scree=
n capture method. Its simple to do this in PowerPoint but the quality needs to be excel=
lent for my purposes.

Minor nits/points of order:

2002 and XP are the same thing, and chew on the edges of text before exporting
it to images.

2003 is a Windows version of PowerPoint (and it also tends to output
questionable image files where text is concerned).

2000 does a much better job than either.

But rather than mess with multiple versions, try exporting to PNG at much
higher resolution that you really need, then use an image editing program to
batch resample down to final resolution. Even 2002/2003's exports can be very
good this way.
