Converting PDF to Excel

Would like to know if it is possible to convert a PDF file to Excel like
converting Text to Columns?

There are a number of different approaches. You could highlight the data
area in the PDF file and copy/paste into Excel, though you will probably
have to so a bit of tidying up, as the data will often appear in one column
(use Text to Column) and you may have headers from each printed sheet
interspersed within the data.

Another approach is to use an OCR package such as OmniPage or TextBridge -
the latter often comes free with scanners - and this will enable you to
convert the file into a number of different formats, but again you will
probably have to do a bit of tidying up.

Hope this helps.

Have you tried a 'net search for PDF to Excel?

There are a multitude of converters to purchase, most in the $30 to $40 range

I don't know of a good free one.

There are some web email accounts that allow you to see .pdf's in HTML.
Gmail.com is one. Create an account and email the .pdf file to yourself. Then
open the attachment as HTML.

Maybe that would be sufficient for you.
