There are a number of apps out there to do it, even free ones (do a google
for mov2avi) however if the video is something you need to maintain quality
on I'd strongly suggest spending the $30 to buy QuickTime pro. It provides
multiple output methods for doing just this.
to convert .mov to .avi. Its worth pointing out that when you do the
conversion you need to pick a video codec that will exist on any machine the
..avi is likely to be played on.
