Converting local user to domain user

I am about to install Windows 2003 Server (Enterprise, R2).

Is there an easy way to convert all of the local users to domain users? If
I can avoid having to migrate all of the existing user profiles on the boxes
to being domain users I would be quite happy.

If you need a scripted approach to handle a large number of
machines and users, the User State Migration Tool is your friend.

If you've only couple profiles to transfer, the File And Settings
Transfer (F.A.S.T.) Wizard should suffice.

Or, there is the "old fashioned," manual way:

You might want to post your questions to an MS server newsgroup.

The local profiles are all stored on the local XP boxes, currently as
{username}. Normally when you create a new account the boxes automatically
create a new profile with the anem {username}.domain with new settings, new
document folders and the like. I'm hoping to be able to avoid having to
move all of the information from Documents and Settings\user to Documents
and Settings\user.domain because it is a pain and I have to do it with 10 XP
Pro machines.

Only 10 machines? Don't bother with USMT then; it'd take longer to
build and test the script than it would to visit each machine and
manually copy the files (approx. 10 minutes per user).
