Converting HTML scripts in to readable text

I have a serious problem. I don't know how to convert a script, copied from
Synactis website, in to Front Page 2000 to get a readable website. I'm
copying a script for a chat site and have tried to copy it in to FP's HTML,
normal and preview pages but nothing works.
What am I doing wrong?
Is it perhaps that easy that FP has such help in itselfP
PLEASE HELP ME AND TEACH ME!

Copy the script into Notepad first, to remove any and all formatting.
Then copy from Notepad into HTML view of FrontPage 2000.
