Converting 1 Word Doc to Multiple HTML Files

B

Brian Leetch

Hello,
We have a couple fairly large Word docs that we need to convert to HTML. I know how to do the Save as HTML, but this creates one large HTML file (which is not wanted). Our Word docs have extensive tables of contents', delimiting each section of the doc. So, what we need is to be able to create multiple HTML files based on all the different sections of the Word doc (that is, for each entry in the table of contents, a new HTML file is created).

Is this possible? If it is possible in Word 2002, how? If it's not possible in Word 2002, any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Doug Robbins has posted a macro solution in the
word.vba.general group for a similar question. I haven't
looked at how he's done it, but...

Assuming you've used Heading 1, you can use the Master
Document feature to break up the document at the Heading 1
styles into Sub-Documents, opening each and saving to HTML
format.
