Convert to Access 2007 file format?

We have an Access 2000 file format database and are currently using Access
2007, and I am wondering if we should convert our database to the new Access
2007 format? Or I suppose the 2003 format?

As far as I can tell, I don't need any of the 2007-file-format-only features
(looked at list in help documentation). And aside from maybe wanting to add
user-level security one day I don't think we have a solid reason to stay in
an old format; the two computers that access the database are both using
Access 2007.

Part of me says "if it's not broke..." and to just leave things as is. But
I wonder if the new format, or 2003, would be better for general stabilty,
performance, or data integrity or some other important but not super obvious
reason.

Thoughts?

Once in production, the Access 2000 format is stable and without significant
problems. I've been using it for more than 8 years now. The file size is
smaller and should load slightly faster than the 2007 format. As you
mentioned, you can use User-Level security. If you ever need to share with a
computer which doesn't have the newest version of Access, you'll be happy
that you stayed with the earlier format.

My advice is to wait until you need the features of the newer format, before
moving to it.
