with numbers. I have MS Excel 2000 and can not convert text to number
Just do not know how.

P.S. Select Range - Format to number does not work.

Hi
what type of text does your range contain. Could you post an example?

Please post more detail. Are the text values in separate cells? Is it
an Excel file or a text (.csv) file? (use File > Properties > General
Tab to see the file name.)

You could try:

Click on one of the cells where the number is a text value. Look in the
formula bar above the worksheet and see if the number is preceded by a
single quote ('). This marks the value as text, but does not show in
the cell. If this is the case, you could do a Find and Replace (Edit >
Replace...) for your entire sheet, replacing ' with "" (no space between
the quotes).

We'll help you figure it out!!
