I've inherited a 17 page table in WP and would like to export/save/transfer
it to Excel. I've tried various saving methods from WP and several
importing methods into Excel, but with no luck so far. I'm asking here and
in a WordPerfect group, but I'm not sure which is the best place to ask.

The table has four columns. 1st - date, 2nd - a lot of text, 3rd - number,
and 4th a number.
I will need to total columns 3 and 4 and perform some other calculations on
the results.

Anyone have any suggestions for me?

Thanks

Diane

If you can save the table as a text file, you should be able to open it
in Excel.

Thanks, I did try that but some of the cells are empty and those come across
screwed up. Where ever there is an empty cell the one to the right of it
shifts over. That, of course, makes a mess of the columns.

But the WP group had a solution. I had to re-install Quattro-Pro which is
the Corel version of Excel and then I had the conversion options available
to me to save the WordPerfect file as a Quattro Pro file and then save the
QP file as an Excel file.

So I am happy.

Thanks again for your help.

You are welcome. I always try to remember to post a solution, if I find
one, since it may help others with the same problem in the future. And that
makes the whole newsgroup idea that much more useful.

I'm pretty new at Excel but it works a lot like my old DOS 123 so I find it
easier to use than Quattro Pro. I am spending some time reading your site
of Excel tips and how to's and hope to learn more.
