Convert Prn file to Txt file??

Is there a program to convert an "output.prn" file to an "output.txt"
file ??
(Win2KproSP4 with HP940C printing 'to file' the "output.prn")

Sometimes :-)

Try to open the output.prn with wordpad.
If you are lucky, you can read most of it.

But --depending on the printer you selected-- you can also find
an awful lot of unreadable stuff in the file.
(It even matters what was printed to output.prn.)
 
add a Generic Text printer, then print to that, saving to a file. then you
can read that file.

Apparently an old version of FormView is a freeware PCL viewer (see
here: http://www.columbia.edu/~em36/wpdos/formvu32.exe). However I
think it only displays PCL 5 files and the HP940C prints to PCL version
6. HP made a big change from PCL 5 to version 6. If you could view it
with Formview, you could print the first 10 pages to a text printer
(someone provide a link).
