Convert Euro date to Julian

I have a euro date such as 20040902 and I need to convert
it to 9/2/2004. I actually was successful previously
using "text to columns" and then formatting but I have
forgotten. Anyone run into this?

what do you mean with 'forgitten'?. You find this feature in the menu
'Data - Text to columns'. for formatting goto 'Format - Cells'
