Controling Pull Down Menus

When I use the pull down menus in Windows XP, after the menus scroll down
they scroll back up before I have a chance to make a selection. Can I slow
down the way the menus slide both up and down and sideways.

I believe you can - in Windows, under display properties > advanced - there
should be options in there for controlling behaviour of the GUI components
such as menus.

Or else, this might be controlled from the individual applications.
