Controling color in the mailbox window programatically

Ollie Killingback

I have a user who was playing with organizing her mailbox by color. She
didn't like the results and tried to set them all back to automatic, but one
resolutely refuses to return - it stays red no matter what. I thought maybe
I can correct it programatically by setting the color of the mailbox items
to black if it is red. But I can't find a way to access the right
attribute, either in VBA Help or my SAMS Programming Outlook.

Can anyone advise me please? It's Outlook 2000.

Automatic formatting rules themselves cannot be manipulated
programmatically. If she has a red message, check the reminder date/time.

Done that... all messages from anyone with the same 1st name are coming up
red!

Looks like a repair job on Outlook then.

Thanks.

If you need a hammer, starting Outlook with /cleanviews shoujld do it, but
will take away all view customizations.
