control the order the programsa are executed at start up

I know how to control which programs are executed at start up on windows XP.
But how can I control the order they programs are started?
In some cases I need them to be started in a specific order, and it seems
that XP start them randomly (at least not always in the order I want, but
occasionally it seems so, just being lucky)
Thanks in advance for your help

Instead of starting the programs individually, start them from a batch file,
using the Start command wit the /wait parameter, in the order wanted. Put
that batch file, or a shortcut to it, in the startup folder.
