Control(s) on top of C# form's MainMenu

How do I locate controls on top of the MainMenu for a C# form, in the same
way as PowerPoint does? (It has a Close button and a Restore button on the
very right side)

PPT probably does it by having a maximized MDI child.

Putting generalised controls on the menu bar will be a tad harder.

Add an owner-draw, right-justified, menu item, paint your controls in it,
capture the mouse events, and simulate your controls?
