when i click on the change/remove program function in the control panel the
window changes colour as if the request has been actioned but nothing happens
..i can use the other functions in the control panel so what can i do???

You can start by being a lot more precise: There is no "change/remove"
option in Control Panel; It's "Add/Remove". Then, once IN the Add/Remove
environ, there IS a change/remove".
