I'm using Windows XP Home and my control panel has disappeared. When I click
on the 'control panel' on the start menu, it appears to start loading and
then just stops. I have run every spyware program I have and nothing seems to
fix it. Can anyone help?

Try running the edit on Kelly's site:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 256: Restore the Control Panel

See the top of the page for info on running the edit.

Thanks for the info. I tried that and I get the same result. It starts to
load the page, I get the flashlight, and then nothing. It justs stops.

It could be a corrupted .Cpl module. One thing to try is download &
install Tweak-UI for Windows XP. Expand the Control Panel category
and first uncheck 3rd-Party additions, such as Adobe Gamma, Sun
Java and retry. If still not functioning, disable 30% of remaining and
retry (You get the Idea). Once you locate the .Cpl responsible, you
can remove it entirely with search. ( It will most likely be in the folder
C:\Windows\System32 the 3rd-Party additions will be in their own
Program Files\ path)

Sorry that didn't work for you. I see R. McCarty gave you a good way to
troubleshoot this further. Good luck.
