Control Panel does not open

I have a small problem. I can't get into the control
panel. When I click on the Control Panel Icon, it looks
like it's going to open, then the windows closes and
nothing happens. I can run the individual icons with no
problem, but not from within the control panel.

Any ideas???

Try the steps in Knowledge Base article 221153 Control Panel Does Not Open
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=221153). Post back if this does not
resolve the issue.

Ok, I did the instructions for Windows 2000 but still no
luck. When I double click on "My Computer" and then double
click on the Control Panel icon, the window just closes. I
even copied over the .cpl icons form a working machine and
still no luck. I deleted them, and re-expanded them from
the cd and got the same results.

Are you getting this behavior in Safe Mode also?
