I am attempting to have continuous sound during a ppt show.

I have followed the help page to the "Play Sound" windoww

I have "Start palying from beginning"

and

"Stop playing after 999 slides"

as advised.

The sound only plays once.

What have I missed?

Have you set the repeat?

Go to Slide Show > Custom Animation.
Right click on the play effect and click timing. Set repeat to "Until end of
slide".

Tohlz,

Thanks. That was what was missing. It ios not mentioed in the "Help"
script.

Cheers,

Robin

If it's a background track playing across a span of slides, right-click,
choose Edit Sound Object, and click Loop Until Stopped.

This is a little different than "repeat until end of slide" and is also
worth knowing about.

But all this is only working with one or more slides, set in the "Custom
Animation".

In one of my presentations I want to have some special sounds for each
slide, but also
a continuous music background (preferrably .mp3) from the beginning to the
end of the presentation!

I didn`t find out yet, how this will work, as all the adjustments are only
made to the slides directly
and will erase immediately all the special sounds for each slide if I set it
to "set to all slides".

Is there any solution?

Thx in advance

Gerry

Some sound cards cannot play two WAV sounds. Try using an MP3 for your
background track and WAVs for your souind effects.
