Continuing error message re: eventagt.exe

I just received new computer with WinXP Pro.

During the course of use, I frequently receive a window
popping up indicating that:

a memory error with a series of numbers/letters and
asking to terminate the application.

The application in the header of the window is:
eventagt.exe.

I tried looking it up under services and, if I am
correct, it is not something I can disable.

Any ideas?

First glance - Bad RAM. (hardware issue)
Check your Event Log for any further information:

Start -> Run
type in "eventvwr"
(no quotes)
Click OK.

Look through for the errors that it recorded at the times you saw the
popups.
