For future inquiries, how do I continue a
question/problem on the same thread? I posed this
question before and was told to use 'Reply', or 'Reply
Group'. These options do not show up on the Comunity
Group site. All I see is, 'New Post', 'Post
Reply' 'Serch' 'Reply E-mail' and 'Forward E-mail'.
Should I be in OE, rather than the web page, and if so,
what is the procedure for this?
Thanks, thanks, thanks,
B.

To post a reply to the same thread on the web view for the newsgroups you
press the Post Reply button. The Reply/Reply to Group are Outlook Express
options.

I recommend using Outlook Express to view the newsgroups. Once you do this,
you will have options like "Show replies to my messages" and other equally
cool things. It is free and very easy to set up. Here are the instructions:

Follow these steps to access Windows XP newsgroups using Outlook Express.

Print out this message for easy reference as you go through the steps.

Launch Outlook Express, which is installed with Windows XP.

On the Tools menu in Outlook Express, click Accounts.

In the Internet Account dialog box, click the Add button, and then click
News.

In the Internet Connection Wizard that appears, type your name in the
Display name field, and then click Next. Type your e-mail address in the
e-mail address field, and then click Next. (Suggest you use an anti-spam
email address like (e-mail address removed))

Type msnews.microsoft.com in the News (NNTP) Server field.

Click Next. Click Finish, and then click Close.

When asked, "Would you like to download newsgroups from the news server you
added?" click Yes.

In the search box at the top of the newsgroups dialog, type
microsoft.public.windowsxp. to display all Windows XP newsgroups. Click the
newsgroups you're interested in, then click the Subscribe button/OK, and
you're ready to go!

Click one of the newsgroups in the left menu and enjoy.

Absolutely you should use Outlook Express (or another newsreader.
The web-based interface you're using is the clunkiest, poorest
possible way of particpating in newsgroups.

I know little about the CDO interface, but assuming that you
continue using it, almost certainly the way to do what you want
is to choose "Post Reply."

It would be post Reply; but you would get on much better using OE;
if you go to http://support.microsoft.com, follow the link on 'Post to
news groups' to
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.aspx
and follow through there to Outlook Express and its TELL ME HOW, you get
to a comprehensive tutorial
