Continue show while playing video.

PPT 2002, Windows 2000. I want to insert a video clip on slide one and have
it keep playing while the show continues. I have managed this by setting
the custom animation, effect, Stop playing After 999 slides. The issue I
have is this is a kiosk presentation (for a show) that will be running for
about 8 hours. I am afraid it will reach 999 slides before 8 hours is up.
Is there another way to do this?

TIA.

Hi Mike,

The answer is yes, there is a better way, but it's not exactlly easy and it
requires that PowerPoint be installed on the kiosk machine, not the new
viewer. If you are still interested post back and I'll walk you through it.

Yes I am interested. I have PowerPoint 2002 and Windows 2000 installed on
the machine. I am also used to doing things "the hard way."

After further review, the play called on the field has been overruled. It
seems that when the pres loops back to the beginning of the slide show the
count of slides resets so that I am ok setting my stop after value to 999.

Thanks.

Are you certain about that? Try setting it to say 10 slides and see if it
fails.

I did. I had a 5 slide show (looping) and set the movie to end after 10
slides. It never ended and the show kept looping.
