Continual boot loop

My kids were on the computer and it froze up as they say. The 2year old did
the only thing he knows turned it off.
Now here is my problem it is stuck in a continual boot up sequence. It goes
thru the memory check, starts to load windows, then the screen flashes and it
starts up again.
I have tried to use the recovery disc but nothing. My wife says she turned
it on once and it asked for a boot disk. It does not ask for one any more.
I have tried to chnge the boot sequence so it will boot from CD and no dice.
Does anyone have a fix I can try?
Thanks

Hi

See if you can get to a screen that has 'Last Known Good Configuration' as
an option - reboot the system and then keep tapping the F8 key.

No such luck! any other suggestions!
when the windows process stops I notice a blue screen like when you get the
error message but it just flashes no time to read it.

Hi

If you can't access Windows by any of those options, you will have to try a
'Repair' install of XP. Please have a look at the following article by
