Contacts stopped working after installation of Office 2007 SP2

I'm not entirely sure that this was caused by Office SP2, but we noticed a
day or two after SP2 was pushed out to all of our workstations.

When we use Outlook 2007, if we go into the Contacts menu and double-click
on any contact, we get a small pop-up that says simply "Cannot open this
item. Unknown Error.". Opening the same contact from within Outlook Web
Access works, so we know it isn't a server issue.

Also, when creating a new distribution list in the Contacts, it saves the
new list, but everything is blank. The name is blank, there are no e-mail
addresses in the list, etc.

Can someone help me with this? It is difficult to diagnose an "Unknown
Error", and web searches have turned up nothing. This problem has now
disabled the contact list on over 1000 computers here, and I know I'm gonna
get more complaints as people discover it.

1. Yes, the To button works, it works with contacts from the Global Address
book, and it works with the user-specific contacts. Distribution groups that
have already been created work fine using the To button, you just cannot
create any new groups.

2. Not that I can tell... I had suspected that Kaspersky Anti-Virus was
interfering(even though the mail portion of the program was disabled), but
after uninstalling it the same symptoms are still there.

3. Running Exchange 2007 Enterprise with current patches.

Any insight on this? It is still plaguing our computers massively.

Also, I HAVE confirmed it to be SP2 that is the culprit. We found a few
computers that didn't have recent updates, and tested the contacts on those
and they worked properly. I then installed Office SP2 onto a computer, and
the Contacts started giving the same error message immediately.

I also purged all policies from one computer to test if policies were the
culprit, but that did not appear to be the case.
