Contacts missing from backup pst

Ben

I am trying to restore my contacts but when I import the
backup pst file every folder is there other than the
contacts folder. I know the folder must be there as i
managed to import the contacts two days ago from the same
backup (Yes that's right I'm having a few problems with
my PC, harddrive, motherboard, you name it!).

Any suggestions as to where these have disappeared to?
I'm using outlook 2003 but it is possible that the file
was created when i was using outlook 2002.

How did you create the backup PST?
Why are you importing from a PST? What happens if you just open it?

Hi Russ,

I created the backup by just burning the file onto a
blank CD. I haven't been able to run the XP backup
program as my PC used to crash every time I ran it (now
fixed, new motherboard and hard disks).

Why am I importing from a PST? Because that is what I
thought I had to do. Following your advice I opened the
file, but my contacts folder is still missing.

If the Contacts Folder is missing when you open the PST file, then you must
have corrupted the file when you copied it. Simply copying a PST to a CD
would leave all information intact. Do you still have access to the original
PST?
