Just imported my contacts to win mail and some where in the process, they are
now listed by first name, I know there is some place you change the way they
are viewed so it is last name first, I can not find it now Help

Open the editor for a new mail,
click on the "To:"-icon in the header to open the address selection
dialog,
in the dialog clock on the list-header "Name" several times; this will
toggle the display of the names.

t-4-2

Open Windows Mail > click Contact > inside anywhere the NAME heading, RIGHT
click > a drop-down box will appear. If you see both First and Last being
checked, UN-check First. Otherwise check Last.

Maybe I had understood the question in wrong way :-(

My proposal was referring to the display of the names in the list of the
dialog for selecting an address.

For the right sort order in the "Contacts" window, t-4-2's recipe has to
be followed.
