Contacts disappeared

My contacts have disappeared if I right click
on "contacts" on the outlook folder and try to set it as
a outlook e-mail list the check box is clouded so that I
can not make any changes.
My work station is runing on 98, and the exchange server
is SBS 2003.
What should I do, what may have cause this?

Have you added the Outlook Address Book service to your profile?
You did not post your Outlook version so I cannot tell you how. I'll assume
you already know.
