Contact folder in Address Book

I have rights to another users Contact folder. I would like to see these
Contacts in my Address Book. How can I make this happen? There is no
Outlook Address Book tab on the Properties window of this Contact folder.

The process of adding another user's Contacts folder to your own address book display is somewhat involved. You will need to be able to create -- at least temporarily -- an Outlook profile that opens another user's mailbox as the primary mailbox. Proceed with these steps while logged in under your own Windows account, not the other user's:

1. Create an Outlook profile that connects directly to the other user's mailbox, not your own, and start Outlook with that profile.

2. On the Properties dialog for the other user's Contacts folder, make sure that it's set to display in the Outlook Address Book and give it a display name other than contacts, such as Joe's Contacts.

3. Close Outlook.

4. In Control Panel | Mail, edit the *same profile* (i.e. the one from Step 1) to change the mailbox from the other user's to your own.

5. Still working with the same profile, on the Advanced tab of the Exchange Server service, add the other user's mailbox as a secondary mailbox.

6. Restart Outlook, and you should see the Joe's Contacts in your Outlook Address Book as well as your own Contacts folder.

Thanks for your help.
When I restarted Outlook with the new profile I created (step 6), I saw
Joe's Contacts in the Address Book. But, I had to re-add my own Contacts and
I lost my Global Address List. When I tried to edit the Address Book, I got
a message "Operation Failed." I restarted Outlook with my original profile
to verify what was in my Address Book. And when I tried to restart Outlook
with the new profile again, I got a message "Exchange is in recovery Mode".
I deleted the new profile, but am willing to try again.

I would start over and try again. You may want to disable Cached Exchange mode until after you complete the initial configuration.

While the new profile does what I want it to do in terms of the Address Book,
I still get a message from the Exchange Server that says "Exchange is
currently in recovery mode" when I restart Outlook with that profile. The
message window gives me the option to Connect, Work Offline or Cancel. When
I choose Connect, everthing seems to be OK. Is it safe to ignore the
message? How can I suppress the message?

When you connect, is Outlook working in Cached Exchange mode?
