to get you started, try changing to the Phone List view - do you see the
Company field now? If not, use the Field Chooser (from the Advanced
Toolbar) to add the field.

No, There is no data in the company field...but there is in the "file
as"...that's what's wierd.
Where do I check for add-ins...?
I don't recall what I was doing shortly before this all happened, other than
I was struggling with duplicates being generated via active sync on my
Windows Mobile device.
