Constant problems with Explorer on Toshiba Lap Top

Does anyone have an answer to the following. All of a sudden my IE6 does not
function correctly. I have scanned the computer with Ad A Ware, Spy Bot etc..
removed any & all Adware, Spy Ware etc. I also Run Norton Internet Security.

When I start Internet Explorer things are fine for a while but it will
gradually hang. If it does not hang while browsing and I want to log off I
cannot close the browser I have to use the Task Manager which then reports a
non responding explorer or I have to reboot the computer. I have tried to re
download the program but it will not allow me, as soon as I go to the
Micorsoft download site the system hangs. I use a Wireless Broadband
connection on this LapTop and I am getting real frustrated any help would be
greatly appreciated
