Constant non-responding Internet Explorer

Recently Internet Explorer has been doing some wierd
stuff. An installation pop-up will come up after opening
every single page asking me to install windows XP office
for students and teachers. I use windows XP home. Then,
not to long after, when I attempted to go to a website,
the page will load fully, but then will automatically stop
responding. It takes almost a minute for it to finally go
away when i end that task. It does this for any website. I
have tried many things, such as change my internet
settings for security, accepted sites, and rejected ones.
I have also used the windows update feature to download 6
new updates, 1 dealing with Internet Explorer errors.
Nothing has worked so far. If it is of any importance I
will show you the error report that I get when IE fails.
error with the following: ieplorer.exe, version
6.0.2800.1106. Hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hang
address 0x00000000.
If anyone has any helpful information, it would be
greatfully accepted. I am currently on another computer,
but need the other one for work. If you need any more
information in order to help me, then I will give it to
you. Thank you.

Does it happen for all the websites that you visit or only for specific web sites.
Try to do this.
insert the windows xp cd in the cd drive
go to a dos prompt and then type this function sfc /scannow which will restore all the missing system files in Internet Explorer as well as Windows XP.
