Constant BSOD Crashes on Windows Vista x64

I just built a new computer with an AMD Phenom 9600 chip, and lots of
RAM, HDs, and a GeForce 8800 GTS video card. I'm running Vista
Ultimate x64. I can provide more detailed stats on exactly what
hardware I'm using later.

My problem is that I'm experiencing frequent BSOD crashes or just
freeze ups in general, and can't figure out why. I am interested in
any advice on what the proper troubleshooting steps should be. For
example:

- How do I isolate that this is a software issue or a hardware issue?
- What's the best way to test my memory, video card, hard drives,
etc.?
- What tools can I use to analyze BSOD dumps and try to figure out
what the issue is?
- What other steps would people recommend I take to try to find and
fix my problem?

Thanks!

Check your BIOS to see if there is an option for "Cool and Quiet".
If so, disable it as there is something to do with Vista (maybe only
64 bit) that does not work correctly. Let me know if that works for
you.
