Connection video camera

The requirements to conect my camcorder to a pc does not include Windows XP, therefore, my pc does not recognized my JVC 520 Digital Video Camara. What alternative exist to conect the camcorder. Please reply. Thank-you
 
Do you have a firewire port in your PC... it should be a matter of
connecting the camcorder to PC via firewire and turning the camcorder on in
VCR mode.

My camcorder doesn't have a USB lead conection. Can it be conected any other way.
