i've just changed my windows from 98 to xp and now when i
connect to the internet there is no connection icon in
the system tray on the start bar(icon = 2 computers). Is

Network Connections > right click your connection > properties > Check the
"Show icon in notification area when connected"

1. Click Start, Control Panel, Appearance and Themes,
Taskbar and Start Menu.
2. Make sure Hide inactive icons is checked and then click
Customize.
3. Find Local Area Network connection in the list of
taskbar icons and click on it.
4. Click the drop down box next to the Local Area
Connection and choose Always show
5. Click OK, Apply, OK.
