Connecting XP to NT 4 Server

I am trying to connect an XP Professional Workstation to
an NT 4 Server. This Server has a local domain and
collects to multiple Windows98 workstations.

It apppears this solitary NT Server is setup as a domain
controller. The two PS can see each other but claim not
to have rights to read each other's files. I listed the
XP workstation as a domain PC and use the same user names
and passwords on the XP as on the Server. Nobody connects.

I saw one message that I perhaps should be using netbios
names between these two PCs.

What is not right?

Are you 100% sure your server is a domain controller? If so, can you ping it
by name from the workstation? Did you go into your network settings, go to
Advanced, Network Identification, and try to add the workstation to the
domain there? Are you sure you're using the correct domain admin
credentials?
