Connecting Wireless Access Point

HI,

I tried to connect a 3com wireless accesspoint I got from a friend. Boot up
happens fine and LAN indicator comes on too. The wireless card on my
notebook detects the presence of the access point but is not able to get
connected. This is the first time I am using the Wireless card. My friend
says both the PC card and the Access point were working fine with him.

Any help on how I could connect to the access point? Or any links to get
this done?
